Water as Memories

Water holds memory.

It remembers the rain that fell on your childhood roof.

It remembers the tears you never let anyone see.

It remembers the rivers you crossed and the ones you never did.

Every drop carries a story.

Some soft.

Some heavy.

All true.

When you stand near water, something in you softens.

Old feelings rise without warning.

Forgotten moments float to the surface like light on a lake.

Do not be afraid of what the water brings back.

Memory is not here to drown you.

It is here to show you how far you have come.

Let the water remind you.

Then let it carry what no longer needs to stay.

You are allowed to remember.

You are also allowed to release.
