October 28: Sweep the Yard, Make Room

Mawnin', fam. 🌖
Di moon is waning gibbous this morning, about 91% lit, three days past full. Next stop is di last quarter moon on Sunday, November 1, around half past three in di afternoon our time. As she let go of a little light each night, she show us how to clear space. Think of a grandmother out in di yard at first light with her coconut broom, sweeping up di dry leaves and almond husks before di sun get hot. She nuh wait for di yard to get bad. She sweep a little every morning, so di yard always ready to welcome whoever pass through di gate.
Today's Jamaica Pulse Practice
Stand or sit easy and breathe in for four, slow and steady. Then breathe out for six in one long, soft sweep, like a broom moving across di yard. As you breathe out, picture one small thing being swept away, a worry, an old habit, a cluttered corner of your mind. Do it six rounds, morning and before bed.
Tonight, di moon rise around ten to eight. Before you step outside to greet her, clear one small space at home, a table, a drawer, a corner of di verandah. Then stand in di moonlight and tell yourself, "Mi make room fi di good weh a come." Leave that space clear for di rest of di week.
Today's Affirmation
I am happy in a clear and peaceful space. I am healthy as I sweep away what weighs me down. I am wealthy because I make room for new blessings to land. And I am strong enough to let go of what I no longer need.
