November 2: One Cherry at a Time

Mawnin', fam. š
Di moon is a waning crescent this morning, about 41% lit and slimming down each night. She pass di last quarter yesterday afternoon, and di new moon come next Monday, November 9, in di early hours. This is di season for gathering in, quiet and patient. Picture a coffee picker up in di Blue Mountains above Portland, mist still sitting on di slope, basket tied at her waist. She don't strip di whole branch. She pick only di red cherries, di ripe ones, and leave di green to come in their own time. By midday her basket full, and not one cherry wasted. Whatever is ready in your life this week, gather it gently. Whatever still green, leave it be.
Today's Jamaica Pulse Practice
Stand or sit tall, and cup your hands in front of you like a little basket. Breathe in for four and picture one red cherry, ripe and ready. Hold for four and pick it, soft and sure. Breathe out slow for six and drop it in di basket. Do it five rounds, and with each one, name one thing in your life that is ready to be gathered in.
Today, di moon set around one o'clock in di afternoon, so she spend di morning with you. Before lunch, gather in one ripe thing: finish di task that nearly done, collect what somebody owe you with a kind word, or write down one blessing you been too busy to count. Then, before you sleep tonight, look at what you gathered and tell yourself, "Mi pick what ripe. Di rest will come in time."
Today's Affirmation
I am happy because I gather di good that is ready for me. I am healthy as I move at di mountain's pace, steady and unhurried. I am wealthy in every ripe blessing, big or small, that land in my basket. And I am strong, rooted like di coffee tree on di slope, bearing fruit season after season.
