Di moon is a waning crescent this morning, about 30% lit and slimming down each night. She pass di last quarter on Sunday, and di new moon come next Monday, November 9, in di early hours. This is di season for keeping your fire, not burning it all at once. Picture a grandmother in a little kitchen up in di Rio Grande Valley, evening coming down. When di dinner done, she don't throw water on di coal pot, and she don't fan it up neither. She bank it. She pull di red coals close together and cover them soft with ash, so by morning a little breath bring di fire right back for di tea and di roast breadfruit. Whatever you carrying this week, you don't have to blaze. Keep your warmth, save your spark, and let it be there when you need it.

Sit easy and rest your palms together in front of your chest, like you holding a warm coal. Breathe in for four and feel di heat gather in your hands. Hold for four and keep it close.
