September 11: Compassion – Be Tender With the World

Compassion is strength with soft hands.

It is seeing the pain in others without losing yourself.

It is seeing the pain in yourself without turning away.

The world is heavy enough.

You do not have to add more hardness to it.

Be tender with the ones who are struggling.

Be tender with the ones who do not know how to say it.

Be tender with the parts of you that are still healing.

Compassion does not mean you accept everything.

It means you refuse to become cruel while you stand for what is true.

Today, let your heart stay open.

Let your presence be a place of rest.

Who needs a little more tenderness from you today, including you?
